The home was designed to provide a place of shelter, refuge, and serenity for the owners, an escape from their busy and demanding urban lifestyle
shelter
house
• 2,500SF oceanfront modern beach house in Arch Cape
• 4 miles south of Cannon Beach, on the Oregon Coast. Shelter House

The gently sloping butterfly roof loosely mimics the form of the adjacent Neahkahanie Mountain
The material palate inside and out is restrained and muted
The primary design goal of the home was to capture the ocean view, keeping the architecture subservient to the natural rugged beauty of the Oregon coast.
